About

Hi there! Welcome to my site and thanks for dropping by!

My name is Megan.

General Facts:

I am the author and illustrator of the books, Meggoline: A Girl and Her Nanny (Adventures, Transitions, & Goodbyes) and Families, Families Everywhere.  I am passionate about creating… I especially love drawing, painting, pottery, sewing, and collage.  I am a daughter, sister, and former nanny.  I care deeply about children, education, personal development, empathy, and mental health. I love books, alone time, nature walks, warm beverages. My favorite genres tend to be fiction, sci fi, memoir, personal growth, and graphic novels but I will read just about anything! (Unless it is super gore-filled… I can’t really handle that.) I am currently a sober vegetarian with a love of chocolate. I am a graduate of the architecture program at Virginia Tech (go Hokies!), I lived in Blacksburg, Virginia for a few years after college, and I currently live in Maryland.

I am still trying to figure stuff out… what I am doing with my life, who I am, what I believe, what it means to be human… (I seem to be ever-evolving and these bios seem to need updating whenever I revisit them! But isn’t that what our 20’s are for?)  In the meantime, I hope to blog about some of my creative pursuits here!

Another Blog:

Additionally, I have another blog called AbstractRelationsVI that is my messier, more experimental, more emotional, more convoluted, more stream of consciousness, more poetic space. I have struggled with mental health issues for most of my life and tend to find that while some of my artwork/creations are light and happy, some tend to be a bit darker. Feel free to check that one out if it sounds interesting to you. (It’s a bit of a rabbit hole though…)

Some highlights from that site include:

A Collection of Found Things (paper/notes/etc.)
Links that I Recommend (anywhere from design to depression)
A List of Lists (if you like lists as much as I do, you’ll love this!)

…and all sorts of other random stuff!
